Here’s another idea about memorable first lines from books.
What are your favourite first sentences from books? Is there a book that you liked specially because of its first sentence? Or a book, perhaps that you didn’t like but still remember simply because of the first line?

Oh oh- It MUST be 1984 by George Orwell-
The clock striked 13

I was so struck by this that I put the book down and thought about it for a whole day. lol

I was totally intrigued.

I remember that, too. It's been about fifteen years since I read 1984. I want to reread it sometime, though.

Never read it. Interesting line though.

I never read the book, but I have heard of that line. Here's my list of memorable first lines.
